The route crosses out of Greater London near the end of the trip, so a job here is priced and planned as a Surrey job even though the drive is shorter than several of our London ones.

The single most useful thing to settle before booking an Epsom job is which industrial estate you are on. Longmead and Kiln Lane together form the town’s main employment area, roughly 35 hectares between the B284 Hook Road and the A24, with around 126 companies and an estimated 1,941 jobs. They are separated by the railway line and have no direct vehicular connection to one another, so a lorry has to travel back out to the A24 or Hook Road to get from one to the other. Two units a few hundred metres apart as the crow flies can be two separate visits, and that is worth knowing before a delivery is split across both.
It is also worth being clear about what the ground will produce. Epsom and Ewell Borough Council’s 2024 flood risk assessment records the superficial geology of a central band including parts of Epsom town centre as Quaternary River Terrace sand and gravel, with chalk pervasive across the south-eastern side of the borough towards Epsom Downs. Granular terrace spoil handles very differently from chalk. On brownfield plots the classification matters more still: the officer report for the former Gas Holder Station site on East Street identifies the decommissioned gas works as contaminated land requiring demolition and site-wide remediation, and material of that kind has to be classified before it moves. KT17, KT18 and KT19 give us a broad mix, because the town runs from dense residential streets to 35 hectares of industrial estate. Yes, unusually for a Surrey site. Epsom Community Recycling Centre on Blenheim Road, KT19 9DL has a separate commercial entrance and accepts chargeable business waste, and vans and trailers may use the site under Surrey’s rules. Pedestrian access is not permitted. For grab loads we still remove material under waste carrier registration CBDU480663 with a transfer note.
They do for town-centre addresses. Street markets run on Thursdays and Saturdays, with a farmers’ market on the first Sunday of each month, and they occupy the Market Place at the centre of the High Street. For a High Street or Market Place job we book an earlier slot or approach from South Street or East Street instead, which is easier to arrange in advance than on arrival.
